On the Menu

Being an advocate for healthy school lunches, I like to report, from time to time on what’s on my students’ trays for lunch. Being in a big city system, breakfast and lunch at school are often the only meals that the kids receive. But that doesn’t mean that the menus can’t reflect a blend of sustainability, and tastiness. Yesterday, the trays held:

Whole wheat cheese pizza  [a big rectangle]
Whole kernel corn
Fruit cup
White or chocolate mile

There was no salad offering, or other green veggie served that day.
